5 Things That Make Me Happy

21:35:00

As we all know, it's the little things in life that really add up to happiness. This post is a short one, but I hope it spreads some joy and reminds you of all the tiny things in life that make you happy. So here, I present to you the five things that perhaps make me the happiest:
1. Sunny days spent outside - There is nothing I love more than when the sun comes out, and I can walk to school without a jacket. Walking along the docks, the sun glittering on the water... I can't imagine anything that makes my day better.

2. Trying out new recipes - I absolutely love baking, and I'm actually quite good at it. I love trying out new recipes, but I also love cooking the same old ones. Butterscotch cupcakes, meringues and chocolate chip cookies are my staples.

    3. Spontaneous hangouts - These are the absolute best. Spontaneous brunches on a Sunday morning, complete with pancakes, strawberries, nutella and my best friends sound like heaven right now. That was this weekend in a nutshell, and I've recently grown to enjoy spontaneous hangouts much more than planned ones.
    4. Wandering through town with my camera - Photography is something I talk a lot about, but it makes me so happy. Hearing the snap of my camera as it takes a photo, downloading and editing my photos after a day out. I love it, so so much.
Combining my two favourite things - Photography and baking.
    5. Looking forward to things - Sometimes the excitement of an event can be even better than the event itself. Not that the event is a let-down per say, but the counting of days, excitement and planning of it is often the best part.

As I said, I know that this is a short and brief post, but my two previous ones have been very long, so I thought I'd mix it up a bit. I hope it was enjoyed anyway, and I'd love to hear about five things that make you happy, down in the comments.

    Exploring Nice // Photos

    16:46:00

As the sun is shining and it's 14° outside, I thought this post was fitting. Last summer I spent a week or so in Nice, in France. I'd never been to southern France before, and I really loved it. The views were so beautiful, breathtaking.

You all know I love photography, so this is me showing you some of my favourite sights from my trip the best way I know how:

This is the typical view one sees in travel magazines and such, but it is just so beautiful. I probably have a hundred photos of just this one view, I couldn't take my eyes off it.

And here we have another typical view - apparently. I just thought this was a cool building and I liked the colours, but when I posted it to my Instagram a few days ago a friend let me know that it is in fact a very famous hotel.

Alright, I'll admit it. This post is made up of typical views. But who can resist an ocean as beautiful as this?

Yes, of course I needed this typical tourist pose.

I love love love colourful buildings. and this fountain is also awesome. I stood here for ages trying to get a clear shot of it, with no people sitting on it, but this was the best I could do.

This is one of my all time favourite photos. I absolutely love it, and for a solid few months last summer I used it as my profile photo everywhere. Isn't it cute though?

Ahh, palm trees, long roads and the ocean. I want to go back!

This post has basically just been me expressing how beautiful Nice was. I try not to blow my on trumpet too much, but I am quite proud of these.

Recently I've had a lot of compliments and questions about how I've made my blog header and title photos which I do for some of my posts. Would you perhaps be interested in a post about how I edit regular photos (in iphoto) and also how I make title images? I'm not too good at it, but I know the very basics. Let me know!

Get To Know Me // The Liebster Award

    21:13:00

    Hey guys!

So I'm back (I promised) with a tag today. I was tagged by two of my favourite blogs, Love Steph and Another Ranting Reader, to do the Liebster tag. They've asked me eleven questions each, and so I'll start by answering them:

    1. Why did you start blogging?
I've always loved writing, but I really felt like I needed a place to share my thoughts and opinions more than just to my journal. I'm a very excitable person, and when I love something I'll talk about it for ages. I figured this blog would be somewhere for me to get my excitement out about these things, so as not to annoy my friends to death, and just somewhere to express how I feel.

A photo I took recently and am quite proud of.
    2. What's your favourite creative outlet?
I actually really love painting and drawing, but I don't do it much outside of school anymore. Photography has become something I absolutely love. It doesn't drain me of creativity and never tires me out, for me it's more like capturing the creativity and beauty all around me. I just love it.

    3. Favourite school subject and why?
English. I don't particularly find it fun, but somehow I'm very good at it. It comes naturally to me, and I can always count on a good grade there. For that reason, it rarely stresses me out and just generally doesn't cause me any stress, so I quite enjoy it.

    4. What's the book you feel most sentimental about?
This won't surprise you at all, but the answer is Harry Potter. I'm such a Potterhead. It's one of the first books I read all by myself, and every time I read them it just reminds me of happy times. It's sort of a common interest between me and my cousin too, and every year we get each other Harry Potter merch for christmas (I have an entire box on my shelf filled with it).

    5. What's your favourite flavour of ice-cream?
Anything chocolate-y or caramell-y. I don't get fruity ice creams, because in my opinion you might as well then just have fruit. Oreo or chocolate chip or anything of that sort is always a win with me.

Me, about two years ago, devouring delicious ice cream in Mallorca. Take not of how long my hair was!
    6. Any blog recommendations?
At the end of this blogpost I'll tag some of my favourite blogs so you can all see which ones I enjoy reading.

    7. What's your lucky number?
2, 4 and 8. 42 is my favourite, but any even numbers will do.

    8. What's the film that has most resonated with you?
The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I'm such a cliche, I know, but it is my favourite book/movie. It makes me feel like it's okay to be sad, and it's okay to be myself. I don't need to be popular, and this movie just makes me feel safe to snuggle up to when I'm having a bad day.

    9. Do you have a positive catchphrase that you say to get you up when you're feeling down?
I really love the phrase "Put On Your Warpaint" from the Fall Out Boy song The Phoenix. It's the most empowering song I know, and this particular lyric makes me feel strong. It makes me feel as if I  can do anything, and I don't need to worry about what other people think of me.

    10. Hogwarts house?
Don't ask me this, please. It's causing me to reconsider my entire life. I've always thought I was a Ravenclaw, and that's what Pottermore thinks, but I personally feel as if Hufflepuff is more applicable to who I am. I really don't know, but I'm hoping for Hufflepuff honestly.

    11. Go-to tea bag?
Green Tea Chai by Lipton is my all time favourite. It's hard to find here in Norway, but it is so good. We're currently out of it, and I'm struggling to cope without it.

    12. Which year of your life has been your favourite so far?
This isn't something I've ever mentioned before so I might do a separate blogpost about it sometime. I had an incredible, life-changing experience that completely changed me, during 2009 and 2010. I feel like such a tease because I'm not telling you what it is, but perhaps sometime I will. Other than that, this past year has been absolutely amazing for me. I've made great friends and really learned to accept myself for who I am. I've also just made so many fond memories that are making me smile, just thinking about them now.

    13. If you could speak any other language other than your own, which would you like to speak fluently?
French. I've always wanted to learn this and I take it in school, but I can't seem to find motivation to study it properly.

    14. If you could only watch one film for the rest of your life, which would you pick?
Probably The Perks of Being a Wallflower, as I mentioned above. I love it, but would quite possibly get bored after a few hundred times of watching it.

    15. If someone shazam'd you, which song would you be?
Oh man, this is a great question. Currently I'm going to say Fight Song, because it's been playing in my head all day and it's so empowering, but I'm sure my answer changes every day.

    16. If you were a character in a book, how do you think the author would describe you?
I'll give you a few hints; the adjectives messy, uncoordinated, clumsy and awkward would probably be repeated a fair bit.

    17. If you could go anywhere real or fictional, where would you go?
Hogwarts, does this even need an explanation?
    Add caption

    18. If you could be on any TV-show which would you want to be on?
I don't watch much Tv, except for Pretty Little Liars, but I'm certainly not brave enough to play in that. Probably Project Runway, as I love sewing and it's always so fun to watch.

    19. What's your favourite kind of blog post to read?
I like personal ones. I like getting to know the blogger of the blog I'm reading, so I prefer personal Q&As and get-to-know-me posts. I also really enjoy Jemima's creative writing posts, which usually isn't my style, but hers are exceptional.

    20. What do you do to make yourself feel better on a bad day?
Curl up in bed with my favourite cup of tea and watch Pretty Little Liars or whatever show I'm óbsessed with at the time.

That was a really long post, but I truly enjoyed writing it! I love personal posts like this. Thank you so much to Jemima and Steph for the great questions, make sure to check them out because they're definitely two of my favourite bloggers.

I'd like to tag Georgie Blue, Izzy K, Georgie Watts, Olivia Rose,  Queen of Quirk and Making Life a Camera. They're brilliant bloggers all of them, and you should definitely check them out! Here are my questions for them (Yes, I stole some from Steph, they were so creative):

    1. What do you consider the happiest moment of your life?
    2. Tell us about your current obsession.
    3. If someone shazam'd you, what song would you be?
    4. What is your Hogwarts house?
    5. What's one fictional character you can see yourself in.
    6. What's one thing that always makes you feel better?
    7. If you could share a taxi with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be?
    8. Tell us about a petty fear of yours.
    9. If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?
    10. What's one item of clothing that always makes you feel confident?
I hope you all enjoyed this post, I'm aware that it was incredibly long, but it is also very personal and a way for you to get to know me.
